Why local image→PDF tools matter for privacy
Photos and screenshots often hold IDs, boarding passes, chat fragments, or work UIs. An upload “jpg to pdf” site must receive those bytes to convert them. A local tool never needs that hop.
What “no upload” means here
- Files are selected with the browser file picker or drag-and-drop.
- Decoding and PDF assembly happen in page memory (canvas / pdf-lib).
- You can open DevTools → Network during convert and confirm no document or image POST.
Hosting still serves the static site (Cloudflare Pages). That is HTML/JS delivery — not your photo payloads. Analytics, if enabled, are aggregate Cloudflare Web Analytics without cookies.
Local tools are not magic anonymity. Shoulder surfing, malware, and shared devices still matter. They do remove one common leak: sending sensitive images to a random converter backend.
